It was a nice newbie drive.
I would like to give special :thanks: to Mathews, Sri and Amin for coming to “work” today. It is very important to have senior members helping out in newbie/ fewbee drives.
Thanks to Iqsaan for being a great co-lead and to Mathews for being my sweep today.
Hope everybody enjoyed this nice and safe drive.
Sorry to contradict Hamza on this. Since this will be your first time, no need to buy anything. First, see if you like it and then you can start spending money. What Hamza listed is the ideal equipment for newbies, but not mandatory. What your car must have is towing point in front and in the back. You don’t have those, you can’t enter the desert.
See you
Nice report Iqsaan.
First of all, thanks to the Captains for their support. This was a Newbee & Fewbie drive, so Captains were there to help!
The terrain was not a typical one for dune drive, but I felt it was very appropriate for newbees. We had 2 convoys and we made good effort to try to find some challenging moves for our newbees. Since we knew most of the drivers wanted to hit real dunes, we changed the plan and headed from meeting point through bushy dunes to fossil rock.
It was a very safe drive, about 50% of the group enjoyed it and the other 50% was happy to see that 50% enjoying it! ๐
Funny thing is, I always thought your were a Marshal………
Yeah David, but you were not too wrong. Before putting back the star system the “new” Rangers were rescue Marshals, so I was a Marshal by then….so we had the rescue team (sweep and rescue Marshals) and the Lead Marshals, now only Rangers and Marshals to make it clear….but anyways, we consider our Rangers as Marshals als ๐ o
