Hi guys,
Sorry to bring an old thread back to life but conversation here is quite relevant to the question I have which is… I bought a 2009 Pajero 3L SWB over the weekend with 125km on the clock. The car is neat and clean and has full Al Habtoor’s service history. It drives great as well except while driving on the road, it feels heavy and underpowered. Previously, I have driven an Armada, Grand Cherokee as well as Xterra and compared to all the cars I am finding this car have the least power especially when I compare the body weight ratio to engine size/bhp. Do other Pajero owners feel the same way or is there something I need to get checked?
The second question I have is around the factory fitted bash plate. I read few posts where members have been driving their factory stock Pajero and didn’t have to make any mods but wondering is the factory fitted bash plate is good and reliable enough to take the beating in the sand? As it wasn’t the case with my Xterra and over a period of time the radiator was pushed up a bit.
Thanks,
Adnan
Hey Sam,
Thanks for your detailed reply. I understand its Eid/summer holidays so wasn’t expecting it to be answered right away.. ๐
My bank (Standard Chartered) is telling me that they don’t issue NOC so I am struggling to get one. I will try a different branch just in case the staff at branch I went to were being simply lazy.. If still nothing then I am tempted to try my luck by crossing without NOC.. :-\
Thanks again.

Tom, following was posted by Ahmad Pervez on 31-Mar at 2:30pm under “The LIWA Lollipop 2000 – 3rd and 4th April 2015”
As you all might be aware the Abu Dhabi desert Challenge is taking place from 30th March till the 2nd of April ‘2015.
This is in the very same area that we plan to visit on the 3rd and 4th of April ‘2015.

I have participated as a Marshal in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge a number of times and have personally seen the desert tracks and dunes damaged by the passage of high powered Rally cars, Quads and Bikes. This not only renders the passage of vehicles difficult but destroys the scenery too.
Mother Nature is a great healer though and the damages should be restored by the passage of winds and moving sand in a couple of weeks.
I suggest we postpone the drive to 2-3 weekends later, which will be announced as a separate drive later.
I regret the inconvenience that this may have caused to those who had planned this for weeks now and would make sure that there is an exciting Friday afternoon + Saturday morning drive for them here locally for them to quench their thirst for Sand.
