Its always a good idea to visit wadis and mountains in smaller groups. Like sand there are no big open areas there to accommodate big number of vehicles. I’m a humble regular visitor of such places and this is my humble opinion.
Ahmed Bhai, It would be great if you could post the route of this place so that people could plan accordingly. Moreover if you have proper gear and are carrying wood then the current weather should not be a problem there.
Cheers.
How far we plan to go off road? Depending on that I might get 4-5 cars/families to join us for the event.
salam adil bhai …… its been a long time ….. its only 1.4 kms inside we all meet at tawi nazwa at 8pm onwards the last convoy leaves at 9 :30pm … and its a easy track …. :drive:
WAA Ali,
I know its been a while, it’ll be good to see old friends.
Ahmed bhai.. Y ur name is not in any of the trip which is out off UAE…. R u in a wanted list with emigration? :p
Wadis are not on my wanted list….I prefer sand.
I have been to Musandam, Salalah, Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Shams etc. at least thrice…even when they did not have paved roads to these places.
We have to do Wahiba sands soon, though.
Even if it is already quite late in the season for that…
Ahmed Bhai,
When do you plan to do Wahiba?
I second you on this. Whatever format the majority decides should be used by all. That helps avoiding any sort of confusions.
By the way here is a very useful website that can convert your different formats. In addition it does quite a few other things….explore….
I hope this will help.
The Nuvi 550 was essentially designed for motorbikes, however it can be used for offroading as well. There is another unit that can save way points and tracks and has been quite handy as I’m using it myself. The model is Nuvi 705/710/715 (either one of them).
Thats the thing…even the Omani consulate was surprised when I told them the same thing.
I just called the Omani Consulate and this is what they told me.
They’ll issue single entry visa for AED 50.00. However if someone needs multiple visa then you need to have your name as owner in an Omani company. I told the guys that we are frequent visitors of Oman so he referred me to a guy named Ahmed Al Henia, who is responsible to decide on each case basis. He told me that if my resident visa for the UAE is partner visa then I stand a good chance to get multiple visa for one year at the cost of AED 500.00.
I think it may be convenient but more expensive than receiving it at the border for AED25 per visit.
Thanks Brian,
So what I understand is that I need to load up maps of a particular area meaning I cant add maps of the whole of UAE etc. I tried the tomtom last year and for that I had to jailbreak my phone. However then I had certain issues and I reverted back to the original iphone s/w.
We were just there last weekend so thought to share a few things.
I would suggest to go further than the main waterfall as this place was quite dirty although we visited it on a working day. Drive as far as you can in the wadi and then walk for some time to find some nice pools not much visited by people.
If you dont intend to drive in the wadi then drive on the road but dont enter into the wadi bed that goes towards Wurayha. This road ends very close to where the waterfall is, park your cars here and walk to the fall. This way even the sedan cars could reach this spot.
If any other info required then let me know.
